Penetrating Dampness

Penetrating dampness is frequently caused by issues relating to the building or plumbing where water has been allowed to enter a property, and can prove tricky to pinpoint without the help of a damp expert. Leaking gutters, roofing defects or the plumbing within the building can all be responsible for this type of damage, which is more often found in older properties that do not have cavity walls.

Although penetrating damp may look harmless, this can be very deceptive. Penetrating damp can prove to be very destructive, even if the water has not spread all the way through the wall, floor or ceiling.
